This week I was chatting with Jasper regarding growth in cg and connect group. He made this statement that when we want to grow our connect group,we dont need to "chiong". "Chiong" as in doing so many things.I find this statement very true.
Today when I was walking home,I was thinking about growth and this revelation just came to me.When we were young since from a baby,we grew until we are a youth now.Growth is natural.Every single living will grow.If a living never grow it means it is already dead. But in order to grow we need food, nutrients, water and oxygen to stay alive and help us to grow.Spiritual growth is spiritual and natural. It is natural for a cg to grow and multiply because in Gen1:28 it was stated "Be fruitful and multiply".But in order to grow spiritually and grow the cg,we need to have spiritual discipline.
We need to do these few things: 1.Prayer (Breathing) 2.Word of God (Our daily bread/food) 3.Filled in the Holy Spirit (Water)
I believe as we have spiritual discipline and keep on doing all these things, our cg and connect group will grow.We will also grow in our personal walk with God.If a person is stagnant or not growing in his/her spiritual life, this means that the person does not pray, read the word and filled in the Holy Spirit. When we have spiritual discipline,we will grow naturally. =) |

| Quality And Not Quatity |
[Oct. 16th, 2009|08:04 am] |
This morning as I was praying,I had this revelation which came to my mind.I was reminded of this verse Genesis 1:28,it says"Be fruitful and multiply." This is a very common verse we use to pray for growth in our CG.In fact this verse is also talking about our own personal life daily.A question came to my mind.
Is my life fruitful every single day?
It is always not about doing so many things one shot at a time.Sometimes we want to do alot of things for God because we are passionate and that is a good thing. But it is important to balance up our lives in all areas.Dont try to pack every thing or accept every single task and burn out but do what you can.Sometimes we are focusing on quatity but God look at quality.Things that we do and life that we live,is it quality and fruitful daily? It is pointless to focus on so many things at one time and it is incomplete at the end.It is the little things that He looks at and will added much more to our lives but looking at the little things.
So I want to encourage everyone of us to live our lives to the fullest and living to the fullest means fruitful and quality life =)

| Praying Throughout The Day =) |
[Oct. 7th, 2009|05:49 pm] |
Today when I was in school,I thought about this topic when I had my break time.I remembered in Getting Started Lesson 7,we learned about Habit Of Daily Prayer. There is a part when we learned about the prayer life of Jesus. When I was reading through I got a revelation or idea of how our prayer life should be like every single day. This is the prayer life of Jesus.
1) Jesus prayed at the beginning of His ministry. (Mark 1:35)
Before Jesus start off His ministry, the bible says that He went to a solitary place to pray in the morning.Every single day when we wake up, what is the first thing that we do in the morning?I personally believe that we have to start off the day by praying when we wake up daily. These are the things we can pray for in the morning.Firstly,we can repent for the things that we have done wrongly the day before. We are all not perfect and will make mistakes. It is important that we check ourselves daily and ask God for forgiveness and allow the blood of Jesus to cleanse us daily.Secondly,we can give thanks to God.The bible says that enter His gates with thanksgiving.I like what weiren shared with us about thanksgiving.A happy person is a thankful person.Thirdly,we need to be filled with new oil daily.Ask to be filled with new oil.Whatever things we do especially serving in God's ministry we need the anointing of God.Start off your day in the presence of God and carry His presence. It is amazing when you carry His presence. =)
2) Jesus prayed at the middle of His ministry. (Mt 14:23)
Jesus sent the multitudes away and went to the mountain alone to pray.Prayer is talking to God.Prayer doesnt mean you need to always lock yourself in a room to pray through a prayer list everyday.Confessing the word of God in the midst of down time is also praying even though it is just a verse.Sometimes,we may just go through the day by going to work, going to school or serving God.How about praying in the midst of your day. When you are in school and you are about presenting your slides to the class, how about pray and confess the word of God.Of course we dont need to pray out loud when you are outside.Just pray in your heart.Connect your heart to God.
Maybe throughout the day something happened. It can be when you are feeling down emotionally, things are hard going,or fearful over some things or maybe feeling dry in the inside of you.The more you need to pray and confess the word of God. =)
3) Jesus prayed at the end of His earthly ministry. (Luke 22:39-40)
When we end off our day, pray and thank Him for the day.The start is important but the bible says that the end is greater than the beginning. It is very important on how we end off our day.End off our day by seeking God.
4) Even on the cross,Jesus was praying (Luke 23:34,46)
Every single day we need to carry the cross. We go through it is because there are certain areas in our lives God wants to deal with us and help us to become a better person and become stronger disciples. You can only carry your own cross.Nobody can carry it for you. When you carry your own cross,it is not going to be easy. The more you need to pray. The more you need to ask for His strength and grace to be upon you and that He will bring you through.
I was reading Matthew 5 when I was on the train this morning. This verse caught my attention and Jesus said this in Mt 5:20 "For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." As a believer,it is not about being religious but being relational. When we have this mindset,we will find prayer throughout the day is a joy,is a delight and not a duty.Doing quiet time is important but lets bring our prayer level to the next level and our relationship with Him to the next level and you will find yourself growing spiritually, moving from one level to another greater level,be even more fruitful and carry His presence more than ever before. =)
